Working conditions are varied and some days you will be busy all day. The workday depends on the type of project; some days you would be busier than others. For instance, running a clinical trial involves a lot of upfront work which is varied throughout the day by managing regulatory documents, developing protocols, advertising, recruiting subjects, ordering supplies, paperwork, telephone calling, etc, but once the subjects are enrolled and data are being collected, you could be busy all day. Depending on how many subjects are needed, how many visits each person needs, and the complexity of the research design, some days may be longer than others and projects can last anywhere from a few days/weeks to years.
