I am writing to this mentoring program in hopes of getting further insight into the research component of dental hygiene. I am currently in the dental hygiene bachelor’s completion program at Farmingdale State College and have been asked to choose a dental hygiene specialty to focus on for my final semester. The idea of research excites me as I enjoy the idea of making new discoveries that could potentially help in the understanding and development of preventative dentistry. If you could provide any insight into the research side of dental hygiene I would be very appreciative.

Thank you for your time!
I look forward to your response.
